One of the best parts of my job is that I get to share my “patient” story with our teams.
Today, a good friend asked me to speak at his town hall and it couldn’t have come at a better time.
I needed the reminder.
The reminder of how much I’ve gone through.
The reminder of how much I’ve grown.
The reminder that I’m so much stronger than what this disease can throw at me.
The reminder that I may get knocked down 7 times but I rise, swinging, 8 times.
The reminder of how strong James, Callie, and I are.
The reminder of what warriors we are.
The reminder of gratitude.
The reminder of perserverance.
The reminder that I have an incredible support system.
The reminder that no matter what obstacles life has thrown at me or at us, we’ve never given up.
At the end of the townhall, I was met with a lot of hugs and thank you’s. There were tears (not only mine 😉) and a sense of hope.
We are fighters. I just needed the reminder.
