I think its interesting that the things we as women think are important….don’t really matter to our kiddos.
They want to be listened to, safety, security, love, comfort, stability, hugs, snuggles, and knowing they have a mama.
Callie doesn’t care if I have laugh lines by my eyes.
She doesn’t care when I’m on day three of dry shampoo.
She doesn’t care when I’m all glammed up.
She doesn’t care how thin my waist is or how much I weigh.
She doesn’t care how clear my skin is or what my handbag looks like.
She doesn’t care if I have lipgloss on or if my nails are done.
None of this stuff even crosses her mind when she thinks of me.
Physical appearance doesn’t make me a mother. These things aren’t bad things though…cause I love a good handbag 😉
But its a good reminder for when I feel like I’m not doing enough or that I’m not enough….she is my little reminder that we are much MORE as women. We are the example for our little ones. We are the compass. We are the caregivers, the leaders, the boo boo kissers, the teachers, and their North Stars.
