Embracing softness, strength, and self-connection

You all absolutely loved the series we did on feminine energy!  So many of you asked for more information and being that it’s a practices that I’m actively working on–I’m going to do another series on it!  So let’s look at ways to activate your feminine energy first!

In a world that often pushes us to hustle, achieve, and stay “on,” many of us forget the power of feminine energy—a softer, intuitive, and deeply magnetic part of ourselves that thrives when nurtured.

No matter your gender identity, we all have both masculine and feminine energy within us. While masculine energy is more action-driven, goal-oriented, and structured, feminine energy is about flow, creativity, emotion, and connection—to yourself and to others.

If you’ve been feeling disconnected, burnt out, or out of alignment, here are some gentle yet powerful ways to awaken your feminine energy and return to your center.

Slow Down and Be Present

Feminine energy thrives in the now. Start by giving yourself permission to slow down.

  • Try a slow morning routine—light a candle, sip tea, journal.  I intentionally get up 45 minutes before anyone else in my house to cultivate this exact experience.

  • Practice mindful breathing or gentle stretching to reconnect with your body.

  • Say no to over-scheduling and yes to rest when your body asks for it. I can’t preach this one enough.  Stop the pursuit of busy and be the goddess of your own calendar.

Move Your Body Intuitively

Forget rigid workouts. Feminine energy loves movement that feels good.

  • Dance freely in your room to your favorite playlist.

  • Try yoga, belly dancing, or tai chi—anything that connects you to your physical flow.

  • Let go of rules and move how your body wants to move.

Create Beauty Around You

Feminine energy is naturally creative and connected to beauty.

  • Decorate your space with colors, textures, and scents that bring you joy.

  • Wear clothes that make you feel radiant and comfortable.

  • Cook a beautiful meal, arrange fresh flowers, or start a creative project.  I love leveraging fresh flowers in our home–it’s an easy (and inexpensive) way to create beauty in our home.

Tune Into Your Intuition

Your intuition is your inner compass—and it’s a core part of your feminine essence.

  • Meditate, even for 5 minutes a day, to hear your inner voice.

  • Journal your thoughts and feelings to uncover what’s really going on inside.  I love a journal session.  Read: Journal Prompts for Soft Feminine Energy

  • Trust your gut feelings, even when they don’t make logical sense.

Nurture Yourself Like You Would a Friend

Feminine energy is all about receiving and nourishment.

  • Take a warm bath with essential oils or salts.  My nighttime baths are a sanctuary.  Face mask + magnesium Epsom salts + slow jazz.

  • Speak to yourself with compassion and care.

  • Prioritize rest, hydration, and simple pleasures—this is not indulgence, it’s medicine.

Connect With Other Women or Feminine Spirits

There’s something magical about gathering with others in feminine energy.

  • Join a women’s circle, support group, or book club.

  • Have deep, nourishing conversations with friends who see your soul.

  • Share your thoughts and stories—it’s healing and empowering.  This blog allows me to do just that!

Release the Need to Always Be in Control

The feminine trusts the process. It flows.  And full transparency, that’s HARD for me.  I tend to have a little bit (ok, a lot) of controlling tendencies so this is a practice that I’ve had to learn.  I trust the process though!

  • Surrender control over things that aren’t yours to carry.

  • Practice patience and allow life to unfold rather than forcing outcomes.

  • Affirm: “I am safe to receive. I am safe to soften.”

Activating your feminine energy isn’t about being “less than” or passive—it’s about honoring the powerful wisdom in stillness, flow, and emotion. When you embrace your feminine side, you reconnect to your inner world, build self-trust, and attract more ease into your life.

Whether through a quiet cup of tea, a soulful dance, or a deep conversation, you are returning to your truest self.

Sending you love and light,

Jaime

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

Hi Y'all

Hi, I’m Jaime — writer, mother, storyteller, and the heart behind The Wildflower Edit. For nearly a decade, I wrote online as The Princess and the Prosthetic, sharing my daughter’s journey with disability and the lessons our family learned along the way. It was a beautiful season — full of advocacy, connection, and community — but as my daughter grew older, I felt a shift. She deserved more autonomy. More privacy. More room to decide how she shows up in the world. And I realized something else: My own story was expanding too. Motherhood was still here. Disability was still here. But so were grief, healing, womanhood, nervous system care, feminine energy, homemaking, identity, softness… the fuller, deeper pieces of life that were ready to be spoken aloud. Whether you come for the cozy routines, the motherhood reflections, the disability advocacy, or the soft life inspiration — thank you for choosing to share this space with me. Pour a warm drink. Settle in. Let’s grow a life that feels like you again.
